“1983” was the year that Hurricane Alicia tore through the gulf coast region. Our home and neighborhood were destroyed, and the destruction was surreal. Thankfully, we had left for Brenham, Texas. My grandmother and uncles’ “rode out the storm”. They wish they hadn’t, as things quickly turned from hurricane party to holy sh!t.
